According to Billboard, Jay Sean will be putting an end to the Black Eyed Peas’ record reign on top of the Hot 100 chart as his single “Down” will move into the top slot on the chart today.
The Peas had held the number one spot for a ridiculous amount of time with “Boom Boom Pow”, which was on top for 12 weeks, and “I Gotta Feeling”, which was at the summit for 14 weeks. This smashed the prior mark of 19 straight number one weeks earned by Usher with a pair of his tracks back in 2004.
Jay Sean’s “Down” marks his first number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
