Let me just start this off by saying Jay-Z is untouchable. There, it’s been said.
Now, if you haven’t heard the new Jay-Z track “D.O.A. (Death Of Auto-tune)” off of his upcoming Blueprint 3 album you should really check out the video below. As far as music videos go, Hova knows how to get exactly what he wants and it definitely shows in this clip. It’s dark, it’s sexy and unfortunately it’s a hell of a lot better than the song itself.
With the sporadic saxophone and electric guitar samples and off time beats I found it hard to get into, and that’s saying something. Jay is known for spending ungodly amounts of time perfecting beats but it seems like he wanted to get this track out before everyone stopped using the voice effect he’s denouncing. And speaking of vocals… what the hell is up with the “Na-Na-Na Goodbye” chant? Definitely not needed.
Either way, his flow is damn tight and we’re kinda glad he dissed the Z in the song (you’ll see) but it’s bittersweet since he failed to mentioned us kind folks at NOW. That’s OK though, we understand. We’re new around here.

Now THIS is what I expect from HOVA…

Too bad this wont be on the disc though.
Blueprint 3 will hit shelves on September 11, 2009.

MJ Tribute
During a concert in Chicago, Jay-Z stopped to pay homage to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Hova played the Jackson Five’s “Give Me One More Chance” while asking the crowd to put their peace signs in the air. Jay then said, “Let’s not wait and mourn death, let’s celebrate life. That’s my theory.”
It’s just another example of Michael’s influence on the hip hop community.

Richest Man In Hip Hop
According to Forbes, Jay-Z tops the Hip-Hop Cash Kings list of the wealthiest people in hip-hop. Hova raked in an estimated 35-million dollars over the past 12 months. Granted, Jay made far more last year, when he earned 82-million, however this year’s pull was enough to knock out Diddy, who came in at second with 30 million.
Following close behind was Kanye West, who earned 25-million while 50 Cent and Akon tied with 20 mil a piece.

Forbes says that the top 20 earners generated a combined 300-million dollars, despite the crappy economic climate.
