This pleases Grimlock…
It was a tight battle at the box office over the weekend with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs each bringing in an estimated 43-million-dollars in ticket sales… as well as raising awareness for the plight of the half-brained Dinobots who have once again been left out of Michael Bay’s latest T&A fest.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen raked in over 200-million dollars in its first five days, which marks the second best five day opening in history. The Dark Knight set the bar with 203-million dollars last year.
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is the third film in the Ice Age franchise.
Public Enemies, the period gangster drama starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale, opened in the number three spot with an estimated 26-million-dollars in sales.
The Proposal landed in the number four spot with 12.8-million-dollars, an impressive 31-percent drop from the week before.
The Hangover continues to hang on, netting 10.4-million-dollars for fifth place over the weekend and passing the 200-million-dollar threshold in its fifth week of release.

Anyway, I’m hopeful we’ll see some of those bozo Dinobots in Transformers 3: Electric Buggaloo, due out in a few months.
